A LOVELORN pensioner took their life that is own after in their battle to create their 25-year-old Filipino bride to Calderdale.
Philip Chadwick, 66, of Sackville Street, Todmorden, had been driven to despair following the girl, who he reported had been an intercourse worker in Cyprus, had been not able to obtain a visa to come quickly to Britain.
That, combined with loss of their mom, plunged Mr Chadwick into despair. And an after his mother’s funeral, he committed suicide by walking on to the tracks at dobroyd crossing, todmorden, in front of the midnight train to manchester month.
The father-of-two – member of Todmorden Conservative Club – died instantly.
The Lad who made many foreign trips before meeting his future bride in February 2007 while on holiday in Paphos, Cyprus in a statement read to yesterday’s inquest, his son, Graham, 41, said Mr Chadwick was a Jack.
He stated: “My dad stated she and an other woman, a Russian, had been being employed as intercourse slaves who have been held at gunpoint. He had been worried and desired to have her away from here.”
He included: “we suppose she had been a kind of Thai bride.”
