This has been a week that is amazing! The fantastic College Admissions Scandal of 2019 broke this morning — the period that is annual of decisions — and stones on . A college that is historic confidential thread, now approaching 3,000 (!) posts, has examined every part of this ‘pay to relax and play’ fiasco, from both a moms and dad’s and student’s perspective.
Needless to say the media have already been having an industry with all of this, too day. In reality, it is uncommon that one can click a news site, even now, without seeing some form of story linked to the scandal. Students are suing universities, moms and dads are suing colleges, universities are rescinding admissions, etc. It is a higher education three-ring circus.
Plus, the timing couldn’t be more perfect, or awful, depending on which side you are on. In a few days, the Ivy League spring decisions will come away, along side those of other so-called ‘elite’ schools. These ‘elites’ are at the scandal’s bullseye. Hence, one metaphor that is possible in a few days’s pending decisions might be compared to a rocket in the launch pad with its machines pre-ignited, ready for the shackles holding it back once again to launch and invite liftoff.
